Are you a coffee lover? Do you want to do your part helping on climate change? do you want to know creative ways to use coffee grounds? Well, you are not alone. Many people throw out their coffee grounds without even thinking of recycling them or reusing them in some way. So how can we use up all that unused coffee ground at home? Or how to recycle used coffee ground?

Why should you recycle used coffee ground?  

Recycling your used coffee ground should be a daily routine.. It helps to protect our environment and directly or not can stimulate the economy ( just for a sec imagine if we were all doing it ?) Let us be honest recycling prevent pollution, saves resources, and creates jobs. It is so easy to recycle your used coffee ground and on a long run, it saves money.

Recycling coffee has some great benefits. It diverts waste away from landfill. It can also be used to produce some cool things like biofuels in the form of:

and Coffee Logs.

 

If most coffee shops were recycling their used coffee ground,  It will have help them save money on their waste disposal.  

What can you do with recycled coffee grounds?

Let’s say you don’t make a lot of coffee at home. As long as you want to be creative with coffee ground. Guess what? You can collect some at most coffee shops ( don’t worry most get rid of it..) Few  creatives practices for used coffee grounds.

Fertilizer: Do you know that Coffee grounds are rich in nutrients, organic matter and minerals? Consequently it can be established as a nutrient-rich medium for plants. The waste will break down and produce a more fertile soil, in turn encouraging the growth of greater variety of fruit, vegetables and flowers. Recycle your used coffee ground by using them to enrich your garden soil!   You know our roasted coffee beans is a biodegradable product. After all once the coffee bean has been ground, it attracts moisture and decomposes quickly. Each kilogram of ground coffee generates carbon dioxide emissions. The vast majority of this CO2 comes from making electricity and heating water for brewing.

Compost: Basically, you can also recycle used coffee grounds by putting them in your compost pile. Altogether, it is a great source for composting, and because it’s such a nitrogen-rich material it only needs to be composted for about 2 months before it becomes lovely rich soil.  

insect repellent! Coffee grounds also help to keep down weeds and act as a natural insect repellent!  

 Neutralize odors: You can use coffee grounds to absorb odors in your fridge.  Place a bowl of coffee grounds in the refrigerator to neutralize odors.  

Exfoliate skin. For your face and body, you can also use coffee grounds. Simply scrub the crumbly goodness all over your body for a natural exfoliant.

Other suggests to use coffee grounds to remove fleas from your pet, scour your pots and many others original ideas.

Conclusion:

We all know that recycling reduces the need for extracting, refining and processing raw materials. Recycling used coffee ground will participate to climate change. We just have to do our part at our level.
